In 2002 he moved to Dubai and started his first venture in the UAE. In the meantime, the ventures cover different industries and locations, including apart from the UAE countries like Singapore, Philippines, Seychelles, Myanmar and Switzerland. Michael holds a master in economy and computers from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen and from Haas at University of Berkeley, California.

Eugen Brenner

Investment Manager

Eugen Brenner has an impressive CV in Swiss banking. After studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich, he worked for UBS in different functions in Trading and Sales at the offices in Switzerland, New York and London. He was responsible for Trading in European equities and bonds and he built up the securities lending and borrowing business of UBS, the biggest bank in Switzerland. After his move to Credit Suisse he was responsible for the market making and trading in Swiss equities and derivatives. In 2003 he was appointed as head of investment banking and member of the executive board at the prestigious Bank Vontobel. In his responsibilities were all trading activities in cash products and derivatives, corporate finance, brokerage and the bank’s services to external asset managers. He also served as CEO of Bank Vontobel in Dubai. In 2014 he was appointed CEO of the activities of Liechtensteinische Landesbank in the Middle East with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Alexander Chang-Sam

Alexander has a strong background in accounting, engineering and management consulting. He is an active practitioner for more than a decade in the financial services industry and worked for top fiduciary firms in the Seychelles and Mauritius before moving to Dubai in 2014. He is the Managing Director of Hensley&Cook overseeing Dubai and Seychelles offices providing a full fledge services for company incorporation and management of International Business Companies, inheritance and estate planning through International Trusts and Private Foundations and launching of Mutual Hedge Funds. He is an active member of STEP Seychelles, a Certified Foundation Advisor from The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Alexander is also an approved compliance officer by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority, Certified by Thompson Reuters in International Compliance and Financial Crimes.

Umur Ozal

As the founding partner of Valuta Capital Partners, Umur professionally manages a portfolio and advises on investment strategy, instruments, duration and distribution. He assumed executive positions in Stars of Europe pledge private equity fund and Oger Telecom. Prior to joining Oger Telecom, Umur was the country manager of Schmid Preissler Strategy Consultants GmbH, a management and strategy consulting firm. He also worked as country manager for Fieldstone Private Capital Group. Before returning to Turkey, Umur held various positions in BIDC and BBH & Co. During his career in investment banking, Umur participated in numerous project finance and M&A transactions from diverse sectors. Umur holds MS and BS degrees in manufacturing engineering from Boston University.

Maricar Gonzaga

With over 23 years of solid track record in banking, accounting and finance functions gained from working for reputed multi-national companies, Ms. Gonzaga is an ambitious professional who aims to take the company to new heights in the ever-evolving market. She was a consistent honour student and a cum laude and holds a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of San Carlos, Philippines. In 2009 Maricar joined the CRESCO Group and is now the Managing Director of CRESCO Accounting Ltd. and the President of the Philippine Subsidiary CRESCO Shared Services Inc. Maricar is the receiver of the “Excellence in Finance – Leaders Category” award by FiNext Awards & Conferences for her contribution into the finance world and her leadership in CRESCO Accounting.

Rolf Macchi

Advisor to the Board

Rolf is a specialist in corporate and fiscal structuring. He looks back on a long career with venture capital projects for family offices and international investor conglomerates. He started in the Swiss insurance business and acquired subsequently in-depth experience on large Real Estate developments in Canada for International Banks and European investors, involving all aspects of construction, finance and marketing. He joined Fidinam Group, an international consulting and management firm offering services from general management consulting and taxation to HR, accounting and audit services as well as captive insurance on an international level. As Member of the Board and Managing Partner he actively contributed to the growth in markets like Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, The UK, Italy, Spain, the Bahamas, Hong Kong and Australia. He acted as consultant to pension funds for large corporations as well. He has a strong interest in Chinese and Japanese Art, following the Asian Antiques Markets in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo, and he closely follows cancer therapeutics-focused venture capital funds that invest in emerging biotechnology companies for transformative cancer medicines. Rolf holds a Master degree in Economic and Social Sciences of St Gallen and followed postgraduate studies at the University for World Commerce in Vienna.

Naveen Indrakanti

An advocate with more than 20 years of experience in advising corporate companies and private clients in varied sectors and jurisdictions. In his position as the Managing Director of CRESCO Legal, Naveen is not only managing big sized legal cases but also consults HNIs in their estate planning including the establishment of Trusts & Foundations. At the same time Naveen is the head of compliance where he puts his legal expertise in the service of regulatory compliance, project due diligence, client screening and anti-money laundering measures. Naveen is a certified compliance officer and has in addition to the international rules and regulation an extensive knowledge of the legal framework in the UAE, Seychelles and Singapore.

Ziyan Yang

Ziyan Yang studied law at the Harbin University of Law while already working as a Paralegal in Dacheng Law Firm in Beijing China, handling national pharmaceutical and real estate litigation matters. She has a diverse background in serving corporate clients in complex litigation, mass tort, and products liability which serves both local and international jurisdiction. She also worked for the Honorable Junming Chen of the Primary Court of Chaoyang District where she received an award for Best Oral Advocate. Ziyan served as an Attorney for the Jinming Law Firm in Beijing before moving to the UAE, where she worked as a Legal Executive for the RAK International Corporate Centre before joining the CRESCO Group.

Ziyan is a member of the Bar Association in China which allows her to freely practice law in the country.

Cesar Igarta

Cesar Igarta is an expert in managing intellectual capital and in corporate structuring. After getting his diploma at the Northern Christian College in the Philippines, Cesar moved to Dubai and started his career in the retail industry, responsible for sales and marketing. He then moved on the field of logistics where he provided his professional services to a diverse group of clients including multi national companies. In 2015 he joined CRESCO to help the company building-up a new B2C business. He later joined the corporate service team of Hensley&Cook and is now responsible for the UAE business, including the handling of large business development projects and key accounts. In 2018 Cesar was appointed as the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) of the CRESCO Group and in 2019 became one of the ISO Auditors that prepared the group to secure the ISO certifications for most of its companies. Cesar is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Yogesh Jeebaun

Yogesh has been in the global corporate service sector since 2006 and acquired extensive experience working in a leading management company in Seychelles and Mauritius. His 12 years of experience in the African market provided him with a strong experience in business development in this challenging territory. Lately, his expertise focused on business administration of International Companies, Trusts, Foundations and Mutual Funds. As the manager of Hensley&Cook in Seychelles, he not only is responsible for the African market but is the key account manager for some of the major clients of Hensley&Cook. Yogesh holds a bachelor degree in Accounting with Information System from the University of Mauritius, which has also enhanced further his expertise and exposure in international tax planning and digital business.
